Unit I — Work with Life Forms

This area introduces work involving plants and animals, including:

• Agricultural practices
• Rooftop gardening
• Precision farming
• Additional vocations such as mushroom cultivation, aquaponics, pisciculture, backyard poultry and related activities

For example, the rooftop-gardening chapter develops practical skills such as preparing potting mixtures, conducting germination tests, selecting tools and materials, designing a rooftop garden, maintaining plants, harvesting and packaging produce.
